Our mission

Bring kids back to the sand, safely.

Coronado is built around the ocean — but closures and water-quality worries have pulled families off the coastline. CBG focuses on what the community can control: gear, confidence, safety education, and a culture that keeps kids in the water.

Who we are

A community-rooted youth ocean-safety nonprofit.

Coronado Beach Grom (CBG) empowers Coronado's next generation of groms to return to the beach with confidence. We raise funds and build community around year-round youth ocean safety for kids ages 2-18, right here in Coronado, California.

We are not a lobbying organization, and we are not trying to solve the pollution crisis directly. We put practical resources onto the sand — equipment, education, and beach days — and we report clearly so supporters know exactly where their gifts land.

Why now

When the beach opens, the kids should be ready.

Chronic closures and water-quality concerns have pulled families away from the coastline. CBG is focused on the things a community can change today.

  • Equipment for Junior Lifeguard participants
  • Beach and bay-based community programming
  • Local lifeguard connection for families
  • Transparent reporting so donors know where gifts land
